Scandal in Sorrento
My main areas of interest within fashion are womenswear, knitwear, and elegant fashion design. I’m really inspired by romantic silhouettes, soft textures, and garments that feel feminine and timeless. I enjoy creating pieces that tell a story and have an emotional feel to them, rather than just focusing on trends. Through knit and fabric experimentation, I like exploring shape, texture, and detail in a way that still feels refined and wearable. A lot of my work focuses on elegance through corsetry, draping, lace, and soft flowing silhouettes.
My collection, Scandal in Sorrento, was inspired by the Chiesa dell’Addolorata church in Sorrento, Italy. I created a narrative around a young woman escaping a scandal and running through the streets of Sorrento in glamorous, elegant outfits. I wanted the collection to feel cinematic and dramatic while still keeping a soft and romantic aesthetic throughout.
The church interiors and architecture became a big influence on the collection, especially through the detailing, embroidery, and colour palette. I used soft pastel tones, lace fabrics, satin finishes, and exaggerated sleeves to create a sense of elegance and movement within the garments. The embroidered motifs were inspired by details found inside the church, helping to connect the garments back to the location and story behind the collection.
Through Scandal in Sorrento, I wanted to create a collection that feels feminine, emotional, and visually rich, while combining storytelling with elegant womenswear design.
