Joe White- BA (Hons) Illustration with Animation
My practice centres on the creation of miniature, lived-in environments that communicate narrative and a strong sense of place. Working through sculptural model-making, I construct small-scale structures using materials such as wood, paint, and card, with an emphasis on atmosphere, spatial composition, and detail. I am particularly interested in how immersive environments can be experienced at an intimate scale, and I aim to develop this practice toward larger themed contexts such as exhibitions, museums, and themed attractions.
Alongside this, my illustrative work is graphic and iconography-led, focusing on bold linework, stylisation, and contemporary visual language rather than realism. Influenced by music, film, and pop culture, my illustration practice explores self-aware, referential imagery that reflects modern visual culture.
