Jazz Associates

Lola Boucher is an Illustrator and Visual Artist born in Birmingham, located in Manchester. Her work is underpinned by surrealist theories, tonality and intricate drawing. With a focus on manipulating blank space with fine detail, she creates illustrations that express subject and narrative. Working with a range of mediums, moving between digital drawing, oil paint, traditional print. For her final university project in Illustration with Animation, she created a self-driven, illustrated publication named ‘Jazz Associates’. This book captures the essence of the dynamic art form of jazz, translating rhythm into line and improvisation into visual language, it’s a homage to the roots and history of the genre. Inviting the audience to experience jazz not just as a series of notes but as a living, breathing entity.

She aspires to create illustration for editorial, publishing, advertising and corporate work.
