Maisie Ronnie- BA (Hons) Textiles in Practice
I am a multidisciplinary designer working across both knit and embroidery, creating playful, tactile pieces that explore the expressive potential of yarns and textiles. My practice is rooted in material curiosity, with a strong focus on texture, tactility and sensory engagement within a contemporary design context. Sustainability is central to my practice, and I frequently work with scrap and deadstock yarns and materials, transforming overlooked resources into thoughtfully crafted pieces that celebrate both experimentation and conscious thinking.
Photography and digital drawings often serve as the starting point in my creative process, becoming a visual thread that informs the development of my pieces. More recently, I have begun exploring 3D printing as an exciting extension of my practice, integrating emerging technologies with traditional textile techniques to push the boundaries of materials and form.
By combining both handcraft textile techniques with digital processes, I am able to create work that encourages interaction, blurring the lines between visual communication and material experience. My work seeks to reimagine contemporary textiles through a balance of innovation, sustainability and playful experimentation.
