Orchids for Joy
I am a surface pattern and print designer, with a strong passion for creating vibrant, expressive work that brings joy to everyday spaces. My designs are driven by my love for bold colour and playful shapes, and are strongly influenced by organic textures and forms found in my environment. I explore the interaction between colour and form to produce visually engaging patterns that embrace boldness and creativity.
This project was inspired by a visit to Kew Gardens Orchid Festival. Drawing from the vivid colours and intricate structures of orchids, this project explores bold print design through observational drawing and hand-drawn motifs. These were developed into vibrant repeat patterns that I screen-printed, along with a series of single screen prints that embrace striking colour combinations, intended to bring energy and joy to everyday spaces.
