AI as Analogue

This project aimed to reject the dichotomy between The Arts and STEM subjects. With the rise of harmful, generative code, I wanted to disrupt this idea that we have to be constantly innovating; moving forwards at an unearthly pace. What would it take for us to stop and acknowledge where we are, what we already have?

By establishing a set of rules, such as the area of a print to manipulate or in what ways I should manipulate it, I assigned each rule to a number on a dice. All of the work you can see here was at the mercy of said dice. The numbers rolled dictated the outcome of each design, as well as the size of each motif. In this way, I wanted to recreate the idea of generative image creation with a more analogue approach. The dice replaced the code, and I had to rely on my initial sublimated prints to use as a springboard. Without making by hand, there would be no digital prints.

I am a visual storyteller with a keen eye for print design. I consider myself a disruptor and an artist.
