Ruby Osullivan- BA (Hons) Graphic Design
HI, I'm Ruby, a graphic designer specialising in editorial and print, with a hands-on edge to everything I make. I recently graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design, where I really found my voice and the way I want to work. My practice is rooted in creative freedom and a constant desire to explore, I love seeing how far I can push myself across different mediums and ways of working.
Collage, textural layering, and archival material sit at the heart of what I do. I'm drawn to lost and overlooked things, old photographs, forgotten printed matter, discarded objects and I find real joy in pulling them out of obscurity and giving them a new life within my work.
I come from a fine art background, so painting, drawing, and illustration have always been part of how I think and create. That naturally extends into photography, which feeds into my editorial projects and my broader love of image-making.
Throughout my time at university, I developed a much deeper connection to hands-on, craft-led processes. I carve my own printing blocks, I print by hand, I build my projects from scratch and stay involved at every stage. I love the whole process, the mess, the texture, the happy accidents that come from working with your hands. For me, that's where the best work comes from.
