Siânnah Mckeown- MA Graphic Design and Art Direction
Siânnah McKeown is an Irish graphic designer and art director based in Manchester. Moving into graphic design from a background in film and television with an undergraduate degree in Prosthetics and Special Effects Design, she brings a distinct perspective to developing visual identities. Her design ethos is rooted in world-building, coming from her previous design experiences.
This has proven her ability to construct immersive brand identities, and campaigns from the ground up. Drawing deeply from her own identity, her recent work examines the complex intersections of Irish and Queer history, transforming critical theory into compelling visual narratives. Siânnah’s practice bridges digital design with physical materiality.
Utilising techniques spanning screen printing, textiles, physical print, and photography, she creates outcomes that challenge design boundaries. As she transitions into industry, Siânnah aims to partner with brands and design agencies to develop strategic creative directions and translating complex narratives into tangible, fully realised worlds.
