Sophie Morgan- MA Interiors
Driven by the belief that our surroundings are not simply a backdrop to daily life, but an essential part of how we feel, behave and connect with the world around us, I am an interior designer who enjoys creating spaces that enhance sensory qualities through texture and materiality. My background in film has informed my narrative approach to making experiential spatial designs. By prioritising a space that understands it’s user, I design interiors that not only fulfil practical needs but are personal, purposeful and engaging. With a focus on wellbeing and biophilic principles, through my MA I designed visually engaging spaces that were also restorative and meaningful. I aspire to design interiors that elevate everyday living and make a difference to how people experience their environment.
Common Ground: the adaptive reuse of a disused commercial building in the city centre of Bristol, transforming a former retail space into a place of ‘home’. Designed to support diverse household structures, a communal living model combines private living spaces with shared amenities that encourage social connection and resource sharing to build a stronger community network and foster a sense of home and belonging.
Nature’s Imprint: an immersive design whereby the space itself transforms together with guests as they journey to ‘revival’. The restorative effects of nature parallels with the intentions of wellbeing spaces, creating an opportunity to explore a spa inspired by nature’s life cycle; Organic patterns inspire materiality and interior form to evoke connection to nature.
