Bloom & Ember
Bloom & Ember is a community-oriented wellbeing hub designed to reconnect people to nature while supporting inclusivity, learning, and self-development. Developed in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), the project responds to the growing need for user-friendly wellbeing support and meaningful social connection within local communities.
Rooted in empathy and informed by research, Bloom & Ember establishes welcoming surroundings where individuals can access nature-based therapies, educational workshops, counselling services, and shared community experiences. The design encourages interaction, participation, and a feeling of belonging, helping to address barriers that prevent many people from accessing traditional health and wellbeing resources.
The project combines environmentally sustainable design principles with biophilic elements to create a calm, restorative atmosphere that supports both mental and physical well-being. Through flexible collective spaces and opportunities for lifelong learning, Bloom & Ember empowers visitors to strengthen resilience, gain new skills, and build meaningful bonds.
Ultimately, Bloom & Ember demonstrates how thoughtful, human-centred design can foster healthier, more integrated communities through the healing power inherent in nature.
