BA (Hons) Filmmaking
The film is an exploration of the idea of death, and letting go. The project was entirely self-financed and produced, with contributions from a costume designer and an animation student as well. Butterfly was a first-year idea that I have never taken seriously until I started to think about my major film story.
I like a good story, fictional or real; that's the main reason I started my studies in film. Films have the power to inspire people, make them think about certain topics, or show them an alternative point of view of a specific theme or idea, and I've always found this aspect of the medium fascinating. I would like to be able to spend my future career telling stories and inspiring people to tell theirs too. I find all aspects of filmmaking interesting (I've done a bit of everything during my studies), but I'm mainly interested in the camera and directing departments.
