Research and process are the foundation of my practise. I love to play and be experimental with physical processes and utilise their unpredictable nature, growing and adapting the work alongside extensive research. This has given me strong experience in many print and textile processes which I can adapt to each project. I have explored a variety of briefs including narrative, animated and more authorial work. These all require a mix of physical and digital mediums which I've learnt to streamline into a continuous process.
My final project combined my authorial nature as a practitioner with my interest in story telling. I've explored the idea of obsession through a comic illustrated almost entirely with mono print drawings. I was inspired by the underground comic and psychedelic zines scene of the 60s/70s, in the silent way the story is often told and their absurd visual language. The story follows a happily self isolated woman who becomes enthralled with a mouse living in her walls, and the depleting nature of putting all your feelings onto a single thing or being.
The comic is entirely hand-drawn with monoprint, risographed and hand perfect-bound.
