Reimagining The Floral
A mixed-media and embroidery designer, Emily Kinley is known for her anarchic explorations of pattern, colour, and texture. Emily explores the use of computer-aided design in conjunction with conventional embroidery techniques, carefully chosen materials, and the creation of novel and engaging tactile textiles for high-end womenswear.
In her most recent collection, "Reimagining The Floral," Emily experiments with mark-making and drawing methods to create works with endless potential and prompt viewers to query her beginning points. Emily has produced intricate but empowering designs that examine the relationship between the body and cloth by combining embroidery and CAD techniques.
