Reconnection with Touch
I am a sculptural ceramicist, concerned with organic form and surface manipulation. My practice is an embodiment of my belief in the human need to make connections through touch, inspired by personal tangible experiences in the outdoors. As a climber, my sense of touch is not only a vital tool of navigation on the rock but a part of my emotional connection to nature. These haptic experiences in the outdoors have inspired this body of work, and a desire to facilitate an enhanced connection with our sense of touch, through my ceramic practice.
