There is a current interdependency between people, value and the environment which is in constant friction to sustain our normality. The relationship is volatile, with usually the political vagueness blurring the edges around environmental justices. With this everchanging alliance controlling our expectations, this leads me to question; what will be rendered important to us in the future?
The future presents a realm in which the balance between institutional power, environmental worth and people’s preconceptions can be twisted, unpicked and reimagined. By moulding critical narratives I feel closer to the place I am intrigued by but simultaneously dread. The interaction between apocalyptic absurdity, the trivial every day and their potential to be so precious in an alternative world is what inspires me to engage in conversation with these dysfunctional value systems.
