Martha Mazur Charrington
BA (Hons) Fine Art
An ode to the sentimental familiarity and repetitive nature of the everyday.
Martha's artistic practice looks at exploring the human experience; the traces of people, our relationships with each other and with our material surroundings. Through her work, she seeks to highlight the significance of often-overlooked everyday routines and interactions.
With graphite drawing as a foundation, Martha experiments with expanding the boundaries of this traditional medium to capture the essence of these familiar nostalgic scenes. Her artworks depict the seemingly ordinary and commonplace ‘symbols’ of everyday life: these objects and routines may be simple, but they represent a more complex narrative that reflects how we all have our own personal relationships and associations with the regime of human existence and the items that surround us.
