‘When I Die’
My Grandad, William Dargue, died on the last day of 2022. 'When I die' is a personal project exploring what has been lost and what has been left behind. The project focuses on my Nana's recent loss of her husband, my Grandad. It presents the juxtaposition of her life alone but being surrounded by Bill's things. It follows the theory that no one ever truly leaves. The project presents a combination of documentary images paired with expressionist prints of Daffodils, which were planted by my Grandad every year in their front garden.
