As a surface pattern designer and researcher, with a background in social anthropology, I am interested in the significance design presents in terms of human interaction and space. In today’s society, it is crucial to examine how design can address issues stemming from a lack of connection to the natural world.
With sustainability goals being pushed to the forefront of all design areas, I work towards producing outcomes which work alongside a green mindset, looking to traditional cultural design practices as inspiration in terms of resources and longevity. Colour, material selection and tactility being of primary concern, I believe that these are essential in creating outcomes which will be beneficial to the mind, wellbeing and environment.
