Nora Hreb is a lyricist of colour and form, exploring the symbiotic relationship between her past/current obsessions with video games, 2000s internet cultures, Anime and a penchant for indulging in the dubious nature of experiences, love, selfhood, memories and mortality and in turn the dubious nature of paint and colour itself.
For Hreb painting is an act of confessional escapism as she passes herself onto the pigment through an idiosyncratic relationship to colour creating electric emotive environmental-like entities.
Hreb interrogates selfhood and her emotional sensitivity through a conversation with the pigments and layers of liquin, revealing and concealing truths and making realisations in the process as well as using the canvas ground to explore light.
Painting becomes an action of poetics and yearning embodied.
