Oak Pitts - BA (Hons) Illustration with Animation
Oak is a creative mind and illustrator, currently living and working out of Manchester (UK). He utilises a wide range of art practices, from professional branding, to experimental collage and glitch art. Primarily focusing on digital techniques, he uses a multitude of programs to achieve his final outcomes; this includes but is not limited to Photoshop, Adobe Fresco, Indesign and Procreate. He also uses photography to create the foundations for his glitch art and distorted imagery. His work regularly utilises bright and bold colours, opting for high saturation and depth, which lends itself well to his favoured design aesthetics; blending together cyber, futuristic and retro themes and imagery. Oak’s work often comments on mental health, online culture and identity which intertwine to create personal and emotional responses to briefs and projects. Being an active member of the Table-Top Gaming community both online and in person, Oak writes and illustrates for campaigns - enjoying making magic items, backgrounds and characters to be enjoyed by a wide range of people. Storytelling in unique ways is one of Oak’s many strengths. When working with clients, Oak separates himself from his work to create tailored imagery to fit the clients' needs and brand objectives, creating exciting and fun brand assets with well-designed colour palettes.
