Poppy Tribe - BA (Hons) Textiles In Practice
I am a printed knit textile designer- I immerse myself in the vibrant world of 1960s pop art, drawing inspiration from its bold colours and graphic motifs along with a strong focus around negative space. I have a passion for merging traditional styles with a contemporary flair creating timeless designs with a twist. I continue to explore new combinations of materials to produce tactile fabrics, blending the warmth of the knit with bold visuals. My recent work "Reimaging Art Nouveau' has explored the origins of 1960s styles- inspired by Manchester Art Nouveau tiles and their colourful florals, I revised the traditional style with my graphic, playful approach to produce a collection that evokes elegance and joy.
