Sophie Davies - BA (Hons) Textiles In Practice

I am a surface pattern Designer and specialise in printed textiles for homeware, interiors and outdoors. This includes commercial and residential projects. I am attracted to florals, patterns, different design cultures and styles. I love playing with colour, composition, scale and design. My work is attractive, fun and nature based whether it's lines, forms, shapes, patterns or texture. The 'floral oasis' outdoor collection is based on the patterns, shapes and forms in the florals and botanicals around us to create attractive and fun prints to encourage more people to spend more time outdoors. I have designed a range of outdoor accessories - this includes cushions, bean bags, seat cushions, floor cushions and poofs. The material is a water resistant fabric that is easy to wipe. This collection is eye catching, comfortable and practical and is an exciting contrast from my past collections around the idea of 'Bringing the outside in.' The quilted samples give this range a more 'high end' feel. I really enjoy the colour palette as the colours speak and compliment each other and work within the collection. I have taken inspiration from attractive florals, botanicals, plants and nature and really focused on their composition and forms. I have hand screen printed, sublimation printed, hand painted in reactive dye and quilted my samples. This collection will attract people who are garden lovers, garden enthusiasts, outdoor entertainers and hosts and people who enjoy relaxing outside. However, I'm hoping this collection will encourage and attract people to spend more time outdoors around nature. Hopefully my collection will help spice up their outdoor living area, These outdoor accessories can be used In commercial or residential outdoor spaces.
