Denim Bloom
Denim Bloom is a digital motion design project that explores the environmental damage caused by the fashion industry—particularly the effects of textile dyeing, synthetic fibre waste, and water pollution. The project investigates how these issues impact agriculture and ecosystems in developing countries, which are often overlooked in mainstream conversations.
I created a surreal visual world where mutated plants grow denim petals and take over city landscapes. It acts as a metaphor, showing how fashion is invading nature and reshaping our environment. I used Blender for 3D animations, After Effects for compositing, and 3D tracking data to merge digital elements with real-world footage. I was inspired by the VFX Instagram marketing reels. By adopting this aesthetic, I aim to subvert its original purpose—using it not to sell products, but to expose their unseen consequences.
I’m currently expanding my skills through a virtual production bootcamp, learning Unreal Engine for real-time animation. My goal is to work in digital and motion design, creating visuals that are visually exciting and socially meaningful.
