Amy’s practice uses ceramics, crochet, and poetry to create, release, and reflect on her own negative experience of being a woman in medical settings, engaging with subjects such as the contraceptive coil and abortion. Through repetitive processes like crochet and ceramics, she sits with her words and experiences, allowing the act of making to become a form of healing and understanding.

Amy’s work holds anger and pain, but also reclamation. She aims to create a safe, immersive space for herself and others, challenging the expectation that these experiences should be endured quietly, and instead giving them voice, presence, and visibility.
