UNITED THROUGH MOVEMENT
I'm Bobby, a Digital Media AV Creative Strategist originally from Halifax, West Yorkshire, now based in Manchester. Working under the alias donno.node, my practice focuses on immersive digital media, live visual systems, and audiovisual experimentation for physical spaces.
Working primarily within TouchDesigner, I explore how texture, rhythm, depth, and colour can shape atmosphere and influence the way an audience experiences an environment. Inspired by music, club culture, and live performance, my work sits between visual design, installation art, and immersive spatial experience.
My degree show project, United Through Movement, is an interactive installation informed by UK rave culture and the historical and cultural significance of underground dance spaces. The work reflects on the dancefloor as a site of unity, freedom, visibility, and social release, with particular attention to Black, Queer, and Trans communities who have shaped these environments.
The installation uses participants' movement alongside Voodoo Ray by A Guy Called Gerald to generate responsive visuals. As a Haçienda classic rooted in Manchester's rave scene, the track grounds the work within the city's club history, while the wider experience reflects on presence and the power of bodies occupying space together.
