Life Through My Eyes
Statement
I am Charlotte Newton, a mixed media artist who focus is on realism oil paintings, screen printing and photography. My main aspects of my work is inspired by looking into people as individuals and how they express themselves through fashion and what they wear to present themselves. All my work and practice has come from my own photography. I regularly carry my digital cameras with me, which enables me to capture little moments in life that I'm surrounded by.
A main theme in my work is the bold use of colour throughout my pieces, I explore deeply into the relationships between colours, with a careful consideration given to how tones interact and influence one another within the composition. I aim to create imagery that carries a distinct sense of energy-whether expressed through joy, youthfulness, or through scenes that feel familiar and recognisable, as though they could easily be encountered in everyday life.
