Interwoven Peaks

El Booth (Rayven) investigates traditional and primal hand‑woven textile techniques in "Interwoven Peaks", using them as a lens to examine the tension between landscape and human intervention. Her textural weavings echo the disruption, scarring, and reshaping of the natural world, creating a dialogue between craft and environmental impact.

Working with sustainable, foraged yarns and raw natural materials, she maps fragments of the landscape, translating terrain into tactile form. These woven elements are draped, pulled, and contorted across a wooden assemblage, forming an immersive interpretation of the rolling hills of the Peak District.

Through this interplay of material, structure, and distortion, her work illuminates how humans have controlled, manipulated, and redefined the so‑called protected national park, inviting viewers to reconsider what nature truly is.
