Interior design, for me, has always been about people and the stories spaces can tell. I’m particularly interested in narrative-driven design and how strong concepts can shape the way people feel, move and connect within an environment. I enjoy creating projects that have emotional depth and purpose, where every design decision links back to a central idea or experience. I think understanding people is one of the most important parts of design, and this naturally influences the way I approach interiors  considering not only how a space looks, but how it supports the people within it.

Throughout my work, storytelling has become a consistent thread. A previous project, The Hero's Quest, explored an immersive museum experience inspired by 'The Well at the World’s End' by William Morris, where the narrative of the book was translated into a sequence of atmospheric spaces designed to empower students and young people. Through layered storytelling, lighting and spatial experience, the project aimed to make visitors feel fully immersed within the world of the story.

This passion for emotionally engaging design continued into my final major project, 'The Living Market', which reimagines Stockport Market Hall as a u3a learning hub focused on wellbeing in later life. Inspired by the growth patterns of tree rings, the project explored ageing as a process of continued growth, connection and shared experience. Combining community spaces, creativity and biophilic design, the proposal aimed to create an environment that feels open, welcoming and socially connected.

Moving forward, I hope to continue developing my interest in storytelling within interior design, creating spaces that feel meaningful, human and emotionally engaging. I’m particularly interested in how interiors can strengthen relationships between people and place, and how thoughtful design can positively shape everyday experiences.
