Elwyn Jones- BA (Hons) Filmmaking
Hi! I’m Elwyn, a northern, neurodivergent and queer creative based in Manchester. I love experimental art, film and music, and I am currently pursuing screenwriting and directing as a career.
My one true love when it comes to creating has always been storytelling. Since I was a child, I have been passionate about telling stories and creating worlds that I can live in. That ethos is something that I take into every aspect of my creative practice- stories are my lifeblood, and I want everything I create to be something transportive, that can take people on a journey with me.
My primary project in the degree show is Branches of a Fig Tree, a queer, romantic post apocalypse film that explores a budding connection between two women who may have more history than meets the eye. I wrote and directed this project, and am incredibly proud to see it come to fruition.
You can see some other projects I assisted with as well, including Cutting Hands where I produced, and Out Among The Strays where I was a set design assistant. Outside of university, I love music and engaging with it through my practice. I create music videos, and do events videography and photography, specialising in queer spaces and raves. I also dabble in DJing and music production!
I am passionate about all of my disciplines; writing, directing, sound design, music, videography and photography. I am also passionate about meeting people and making genuine connections, so please get in touch if you like the sound of anything I do!
Much love from Elwyn :)
