Georgina Dent- BA (Hons) Fine Art
Georgina Dent’s practice explores the interplay between digital and physical through the mediums of painting and poetry. Her works dissect perpetuations of misogyny, confronting fast paced social media culture, and language surrounding women’s bodies and identities. Her spoken word poetry and paintings on aluminium carve open the attention grabbing culture of digital content in order to analyse the intricacies of desire, consumption and access. Each thick brushstroke and earnest word bleeds with aspirations to disrupt entrenched patriarchal traditions that have historically positioned women’s bodies within art as objects of male spectatorship
