Girls
'Girls' is an ode to sisterhood and the importance of female friendship. It’s a photographic response to the impact my female friendships have had on my creative process, artistic focus and life. This project was a way for me to understand the complex feelings brought about by these connections, through the form of photography. The form chosen has allowed me to demonstrate my overwhelming admiration for my subjects visually. Connections between the subjects and I are presented in individual intimate portraits, allowing the viewer to explore my perspective. The work was created in parts of our shared home, facilitating a sense of familiarity and comfort. This helped contribute to the capture of authentic honest expressions of personality and femininity.
