Isabel Marshall- BA (Hons) Fine Art
Isabel Marshall’s practice combines expanded painting and sculpture. She uses ink on raw canvas alongside hand built ceramic paint palettes. She constructs vessels to serve the inks needs, such as making deep sections in palettes to paint large scale. The use of ink allows her to paint as an extension of the body because of its fluidity, the watery colours transform both canvas and palette simultaneously. Inks bleed and drip onto the floors and tables of her studio while making. The layering of marks records the behaviour of the ink, creating a library of colour palettes for future inspiration.
