Keira Parkins- BA (Hons) Filmmaking
My passion for filmmaking began with photography, capturing expressive photos that explored themes of identity and storytelling through this creative outlet. When I joined university, I began to explore roles within the industry. Falling into the role of sound designer for a short film, my passion and love for sound grew quickly, with a shift in my mindset for the future. Audio recording, mixing levels, and time spent in the Foley suite became instinctive to me, understanding and learning the bread and butter for sound design. Now, I am passionately working on developing my career in sound, and I love creating an auditory world that immerses the audience to experience the film, not just watch it.
With my major film being The Sequencer Project I find myself leaning into experimental / sci-fi sound design work as it gives me the creative outlet to worldbuild and craft an immense auditory outlet, as similarly found in my previous work, Overgrown.
