Mary Walker- BA (Hons) Filmmaking
I am a filmmaker, art practitioner and performance artist from London, based in Manchester. My final major film for the Filmmaking (BA), 'ANTHROPOMORPHOID', is a pentalogy dissecting the different connotations surrounding the female body. Aiming to explore discomfort and abstracting stereotypical perspectives, five chapters delve into vulnerability, nuture, desire, anatomy and formidability.
My passion for artist moving image and abstract, experimental pieces is elucidated through the connection I make to feminism, fashion and biology; the female experience is an essential, empowering theme to my artworks and my extensive education in fine art often merges into my filmmaking practice. I aim to create my own immersive installation pieces which connect the audience to film in a physical way.
