During my MA in User Experience design I discovered a passion for using mixed-methods research such as eye tracking and diary studies to inform my designs. In one project, I explored attrition inhibitors in people with ADHD symptoms who engage with journal/habit tracking apps and analogue practices like scrapbooking. My research uncovered that my user group prefers simple, intuitive designs like Apple Calendar compared to gamified, purpose-built apps such as Finch. My research defined app design requirements: A simple and intuitive app which affords users to choose their own reward system.
