Hello,

My name is Natasha and I am a filmmaking student who is in their final year at Manchester Metropolitan University. My practice explores complex representations of women, engaging with both positive and negative perspectives. My work is particularly concerned with how film can challenge dominant assumptions and provoke critical reflection on female experiences.

Working primarily as a producer, I focus on the development and realisation of projects from conception through to completion. For my dissertation project, No Comment, I undertook the role of producer, overseeing the organisation, coordination, and execution of the film to ensure a cohesive and considered final outcome.

No Comment centers on Dominique Sterling, a police detective assigned to a case involving Mark Fox, who was last seen with a man now deceased. As the interrogation progresses, Mark repeatedly responds with "no comment," generating sustained tension and ambiguity. The film interrogates the extent to which Dominique is willing to push ethical and professional boundaries in pursuit of the truth, raising questions surrounding power, control, and morality.

In addition to producing, I have some experience in scriptwriting as well as sound recording, sound design, and foley. This interdisciplinary skill set informs my collaborative approach to filmmaking, enabling me to engage critically with multiple aspects of the production process and contribute to more nuanced and considered forms of storytelling.
