Load-In/Load-Out
This project focuses on the role of women within the grassroots music industry in order to highlight a group whose labour and creative contributions are often overlooked. While live music culture is frequently associated with visible performers, the technical, organisational, and production roles behind the scenes remain undervalued — and women in these roles can face additional barriers relating to representation, access, and recognition due to discrimination. By also foregrounding women’s experiences within backstage and production environments, the project aims to draw attention to both the structural challenges and the cultural impact of their work.
