Mother / Land-Escape

I am a self-directed filmmaker and camera operator who has recently completed a Foundation Degree in Digital Arts and a Bachelor's Degree in Filmmaking.Alongside my studies, I have developed my freelance practice under the name Shot By Selly, working across a range of creative and commercial projects.

My work often explores how visual storytelling can communicate emotion and lived experience. For this project, I created a dual-screen installation that presents the experiences of a single mother alongside a parallel visual narrative of landscapes and nature imagery. Using soundscape, imagery, and contrasting perspectives, the installation aims to reflect emotional states and create a deeper connection between personal experience and the natural world.

This project represents my interest in combining documentary-inspired storytelling with experimental visual approaches to evoke feeling and reflection.
