From Nature We Take, To Nature We Give
Presented within acrylic moulds, the two principal works, accompanied by three supporting pieces, explore the intersection of wildlife and landscape photography. The images combine subjects such as the Red Spitting Cobra and the Northern Giraffe with expansive landscape scenes from the West African island nation of Cape Verde.
These works aim to celebrate the beauty of the natural textures, patterns, and forms found throughout our planet’s ecosystems. They invite viewers to develop a deeper appreciation for the remarkable animals and environments that continue to exist alongside us, while also reflecting on their fragility and the possibility that they may one day be lost to time.
Not all of the images are digitally manipulated composites. Some naturally evoke both animal textures and landscape forms through visual coincidence alone. However it is up to your interpreation to think and decide on which was has been edited and which has not.
