Willow Blackwell- BA (Hons) Filmmaking
I am an experimental filmmaker working within mixed media, stop motion, and analogue filmmaking. During my time at Manchester Metropolitan University, I have had the chance to experiment with different filmmaking techniques and develop a better understanding of my own creative style and interests. Through both collaborative and personal projects, I have discovered that I enjoy creating visually driven work that combines animation, live action, and analogue textures.
My work focuses on exploring different ways of storytelling through mixed media production and experimental filmmaking. I enjoy using handmade processes and combining different visual styles to create films that feel immersive and expressive. Working on a range of projects throughout university has helped me grow in confidence as a filmmaker and allowed me to discover the areas of filmmaking I am most passionate about.
Based between London and Manchester, I am excited to continue developing my skills and creative practice. In the future, I hope to further explore my interests in music video production, analogue filmmaking, mixed media projects, and stop motion through work experience, internships, and creative collaborations.
