Woody Moore- BA (Hons) Fine Art
Woody Moore’s practice centres on drawing and sculpture. His works invite attention to the patterns and systems that surround contemporary life. Focusing on the relationships of the mechanical/industrial and the organic, he uses posthuman theory as a framework, to blur the boundaries between these seemingly opposing forces.
Experimentation through welding, drawing, scanning, sculpture and photography, depicts this entanglement, utilising chaos and arrangement, to construct biomorphic forms, that merge industrial structures with anatomical and organic references. Using photographic material gathered around Manchester, he draws, traces and reconfigures mechanical components, challenged by uncanny anatomical shapes and abstracted, organic patterns to construct unstable, entangled bodies and systems where order and chaos coexist.
His work encourages viewers to reconsider distinctions between machine and organism, suggesting a more integrated posthuman condition.
