BA (Hons) Textiles in Practice
Fibre and technique are the focal points of my practice as a Knitted Textile Designer. I am excited by the possibilities of construction within Knit and influenced by the serendipitous nature of the development process. Inspiration has been taken from pictures photographed in New York, that suggest a sense of translucency contrasting to the dense city. The photos are moments captured when light hits various shapes, creating shadows and organic forms, only there for that moment. This collection represents a series of developed techniques that explore the relationship between the construction of knit and my understanding of fibre. I am curious and open mined within my practice, which has helped me produce a wide and varied collection of samples in my portfolio. I want to continue learning and gain a broad plethora of experience in the industry as a creative designer after I graduate.
