The aim of this final major project is to design and create a safe space that caters to the needs of the Bangladeshi community, providing them with a sense of home away from home. This space will also serve as a platform for promoting and preserving the Bangladeshi mother tongue, fostering a deeper understanding and connection to their cultural identity. Additionally, sustainability will be a core principle throughout the project, ensuring the long-term viability of the space while minimizing its environmental impact.
Motivation for the Project
My sister and I moved to the UK in 2008. In 14 years, we were only able to visit Bangladesh three times. There are many things that we miss about Bangladesh that we talk about in day-to-day, like the street food is so accessible, having our cousins together and going to festivals. Experiencing on social media is not the same. There is a need for a place here and Joy Bangla offers this.
