My paintings explore the intimacies of human relationships by focusing on their traces rather than their subjects. Through absence of the human figure, attention shifts to lived in spaces where fabrics and colour become quiet evidence of presence.

I became obsessed with the lines, patterns, textures, colour, and the fulfilling enjoyment of creating these paintings. My intentions got clearer and clearer in my mind. The Bed. A site for thousands of different interactions, memories, and experiences. So, I paint bed sheets. Over and over again.

These surfaces hold the memory of interactions, and the intimacy that once inhabited them. Considering absence as a form of presence, the folds, creases, and impressions act as a subtle residue of the body, experience, and relationships - moments that now only exist in memory.
