Emilia Trafalgar BA (Hons) Photography
Emilia Trafalgar is a multi-disciplinary artist, based in London. Her work is predominantly focused on the narrative of black womanhood and other groups that are disproportinately affected by systemic inequality and exclusionary ideologies that don't acknowledge the existence of intersectionality in the world today.
Trafalgar’s current project inquires into the way in which our identity manifests through the physical changes to our bodies, with an autobiographical approach using portraiture, to depict the “never-completed process of becoming”(Hall,2014). Inspired by her own journey through life as a first-time mother, Trafalgar's work explores the way in which we adapt to new milestones in life, through learnt postures and movements.
