Isabel Walker BA (Hons) Photography
Isabel Walker is a Manchester based photographer. At the age of 19, Isabel was diagnosed with the chronic pain condition Fibromyalgia after enduring personal trauma. Through her work this has allowed her to create a space for open conversation and building connections with her audience about today’s society looking at themes that are personal to her.
‘Play the Game’ is a photographic series examining the challenging time transitioning from adolescence to womanhood. Whilst conversing about the challenges they face as young women; she captures honest moments showing their true emotions to themes such as physical and mental health, the work environment, and objectification. Isabel dedicated her time to building connections with these young women during the coronavirus pandemic, using her 1 hour of exercise a day. She also created the project to provide some much-needed human interaction during the pandemic.
