Visual Artist, Writer and Storyteller: Working in film, photography and installation. Experimenting with both digital and analogue mediums.
Using my lens and words to create art from both personal and cultural experiences as a British-born Pakistani. Particularly interested in authentic and ethical working class representation within art works and preserving cultural histories which often only exist orally and rarely travel beyond our communities.
I have spent a lot of time working as a solo filmmaker due to the personal nature of the topics I explore while also maintaining collaborative aspects within this. Over the past 18 months I have taken an interest in socially engaged and community driven work which has allowed me to see ways in which my skills can be used as a force for change and improvement, not only within society but within individuals, something i'm keen to continue exploring.
