Gina Walkerdine BA (Hons) Interior Design

Gina Walkerdine

I have experience in different fields of Art and Design such as; fine art, ceramics, repeat pattern and textiles. This experience influences my approach to Interior Design projects. I like to think outside of the box with my concepts and consider the existing surroundings of the building so that the idea will complement the current environment.

This approach is evident in my proposal for a pop-up Nike store, located in Hatch on Oxford Road, Manchester. The store offers a convenient click and collect service for a big-name brand. Customers order shoes from the app and collect them in-store. In the wake of the pandemic, this concept could be an answer to allowing social distancing without social isolation.

This project builds on a similar concept for a larger scale project located on Oldham Road in Ancoats, Manchester. Click and collect with Boohoo.com is a flagship store for the online brand. The space include a hair and beauty salon and a social space for drinks. This scheme is an opportunity to raise awareness on plastic pollution, with the main interior finishes being recycled plastic from the ocean
