Jessica Lee BA (Hons) Illustration with Animation
Hello, thank you for your interest in my work! My name is Jess and I’m a proud British-Chinese designer born and raised in Manchester.
During my studies at the Manchester School of Art I discovered a passion for product and design which led me to create and build ‘Amberyii Studio’, a space where I could create joyful gifts and homewares for retail. I love to celebrate my mixed heritage throughout my work, so the name ‘Amberyii Studio’ came from a combination of both my British and Chinese middle names - ‘Amber and ‘Bao-Yi’.
For my ‘Retro Blossom’ series, I used a combination of digital and traditional print-making techniques to create my own modern twist on the classic hand-printed wallpapers of the late 17th century. This calming collection of peach blossom inspired wallpapers was designed to transform any room into a tranquil escape with their vibrant yet serene aesthetic.
Over the last several years I have been lucky enough to exhibit in the Oxo Tower Wharf and Golden Square Gallery. I’ve also had the opportunity to stock my products in retail stores such as Paperchase and John Lewis through Curated Makers, a collaborative retail platform that bridges the gap between big and small businesses, on the high-street.
When I’m not in my studio, I enjoy doting over my Mini-Lop, Obi, swimming, cooking or eating ice cream.
