Phoebe Smith BA (Hons) Interior Design
I believe interior spaces are important not only for our practical needs but also the emotional power they can have on us, and the wider part design has in influencing all aspects of our lives. I will be taking this design view into my professional career to design products, content and interiors that are highly relevant and bring comfort and interest to all users. I go about my design with the up-most profession and organisation with an open mind to the opportunities and transformative nature design has on society and business.
‘Platform’ is a fashion incubator, located in Ancoats, Manchester, designed for ASOS Marketplace. With the ASOS brand at the heart of the design, it was crucial to investigate who will be using thespace and how the ASOS Brand values, such as sustainability and team working, could be expressed in physical form
The chosen site, St Peters Church, is a challenging building and had to be treated with sensitivity and respect. This led to the final design incorporating the existing beautiful arched structures as balconies for working spaces. The existing columns are used to divide the space, making it feel more organic.
For my Unit X project, I continued with using ASOS Markeplace as my primary brand. I designed a digital shopping experience encompassed in a on trend bar. This was located within the corn Exchange, a space known for busy shopping traffic.
